Little Otters will be practicing out of Artesia Youth Park on Loxley Rd. Inside our location is a office style work environment for table top activities to work on fine motor and visual perceptual skills. There is some large gym space that may be used when other activities are not in session to explore and work towards regulating sensory input.

Meet our Therapist
Jesseca Wood
I am a full time Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of MI and registered with the National Board of Occupational Therapists. I currently work full time as a Occupational Therapist finishing my 6th year at Houghton Lake school, working with children of all ages.
I grew up in Midland Michigan before moving north to Houghton Lake in 2018. I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2017. While my main expertise is in pediatrics, during college and on a as needed basis I have some experience in outpatient ortho, and skilled nursing. During college I participated in a research project evaluating the behavioral changes in children with Autism while partaking in a color coded keyboard piano learning system. Additionally in college I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Zambia Africa building homes for aids orphans.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my niece and 3 nephews, as well as enjoy going fishing, and camping. I have a passion for tortoises and turtles, owning one Sulcata tortoises named Walter (8yrs), Additionally I have 2 furbabies, I have a mixed Ragdoll/Maincoon cat named Felix (6 yrs), and a Golden Retriever (6 yrs).
I'm looking forward to spending additional time each week doing a job that I love. I believe in a person centered approach to therapy meaning that the child and the family direct the goals that are both important and meaningful to them and their child.
